- Walk from the hotel to the beach through open countryside & pine forests to Trafalgar Bay
- Walk to the Santa Lucia roman aqueduct, explore the aqueduct & local fauna before enjoying a meal in one of the garden restaurants in the valley
- Enjoy local bird watching, from coastal to wetlands & raptors in the nearby highlands
- Take a kayak or be guided from a small vessel through the dunes & waterways of the Cádiz Marine Park seeing a mass of birdlife
- Take a day Whale Watching in the Straits from nearby Tarifa, see Catchalote, Finn Whales & Dolphins. Don’t miss the Orcas feasting in August / September.
- Europe's largest oak forest the 175,000ha. Alcornocales Nature Park is a 30min. drive from Vejer giving access to a series of fresh water lakes & a walk to a 1,000m. peak.
- A day excursion could take you to Coto Donana, Europes most important Biosphere reserve or the Alcornocales with quality trekking & stunning views.
Culture
- Relax with a charming nocturnal walk through Vejer's romantic narrow alleys & courtyards.
- Visit historic Cape Trafalgar and take a walk along the "Beach of Souls" named after the famous battle.
- Walk around the extensive ruins of Roman "Baelo Claudia", see the statue of Trajan and admire the views overlooking the bay of Bolonia and its vast sand dune.
- Enjoy the outstanding fish market in Cádiz & explore the towns charming backstreets, monuments, parks & lively local shopping.
- In Jerez you can't miss the famous sherry bodegas for a history tour & a tasting or drive to Sanlucar de Barrameda for a plate of freshly caught "langostinos" overlooking the Guadalquivir river & the pine woods of Coto Doñana.
- Nearby Medina Sidonia & Tarifa are historic small towns with a rich legacy of monuments, history & views.
Sport
- Vejer is the ideal location from which to play Golf at all times of the year.
- Take a mountain bike for rides either along the coast or on quiet trails through the interior. All year. Mountain bikes available for hire locally.
- Southern Spain's best surf beach is a 10 minute drive away. Best from October to May. There are three surf schools at El Palmar open all year round.
- Kite Surf at Cape Trafalgar or windsurf at Tarifa. Courses, schools & equipment hire locally all year.
- Three riding stables locally offer you gallops on empty beaches (not July-September) or stunning rides through pine forest & open country.
- Sea or lake kayaking from March to November. Great scenery, good weather & warm water.
- Trek from Vejer to Cape Trafalgar through the Las Breñas Nature Reserve.
- Just 40min. from Vejer you can enjoy a day walk to over 1,000m. in the Alcornocales forest. Spectacular views, dense forest & narrow stream filled gulleys make this a great day out.
